P.E.M.U.
Poisonous, Edible, Medicinal, and Useful plant workshops focus on utilizing nature's abundance. With over 1,600 flowering species in the Smokies, learning what you can eat, use for medicine, cordage, fire, and which ones to avoid can be a challenge. Join BigPig Outdoors as we venture off into the wilds to cut the learning curve with our P.E.M.U. Workshops. Classes offered in spring, summer, fall, and winter.
Confucius once said..."I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand". Applying this wisdom to our workshops helps you develop a relationship with each plant, so you will not only remember it, but understand it's uses. We will spend the day foraging, sampling as we go, and end the day processing and tasting our harvest by the campfire.
