Josh McDaniel

Josh has been fascinated with electronics since he was old enough to hold a soldering iron and has been building gear since he was in elementary school. His interest in being prepared and the outdoors grew during high school and the Y2K scare. For the last sixteen years Josh has been working as a broadcast communications engineer managing an assortment of audio, IT, telecommunications systems, emergency power systems, and high power radio transmission systems.  He has been a licensed GMRS and Amateur Radio operator currently holding an Amateur Extra class license.  Josh firmly believes that the skills to improvise and adapt equipment to the situation are a critical part of being prepared.  Seeing damage from regional wildfires, floods, ice storms, and hurricanes only furthers his belief that being prepared, learning what fails, and having the ability to think your way through solutions when no one is available to help are critical to coming out on top when things go wrong. He is currently working toward helping individuals, families, churches, and other communities become more independent and ready for the unexpected.
